Review: China Glaze Nail Strips

Hello! I have a review for you today! I recently discovered that my favorite nail polish brand (China Glaze) has started making nail polish strips! I was very excited to see these at Sally Beauty Supply.  They are cheaper than Sally Hansen and OPI nail strips.  I paid about $6.50 for them.  They didn't have a huge variety but hopefully it will grow.  The pattern I chose was Built For Speed.  I really like them for the most part.  I wore these from a Friday to the following Thursday.  They feel thicker than the Sally Hansen strips.  They wear fairly well and held up to the chlorine in the pool.  My biggest complaints about them is the sizing.  It's a little off and I had to cut some of them to fit right. Also, the instructions say to add China Glaze Fast Forward top coat. I don't own this particular top coat so I just used what I had.  I think because of adding the topcoat, I had peeling around the cuticles.  I am not sure if this would happen if I used the China Glaze top coat or non at all.  Over all I am pleased with these strips and will probably buy more.  I do hope they change the sizing a little and add more designs.

There isn't any purple, they are black and pink.
As you can see, the peeling got to me and I ended up cutting to much.  You can see a little peeling on the pink and ring finger.

  1. Wow, I didn't know they made nail strips - thanks for sharing. I'm pretty sure I would start to pick them LOL - and in my head I have this feeling, that it might feel way to dense on the nails with any kind of strips - but that's probably just in my imagination...

  2. I don't notice them on the nail, until I feel the peeling. I am a picker. They need to improve a little on their design for sure.

  6. Not a fan. I think the Sally ones look much more chic and have a better shine to them. That being said, for a cheaper price, I understand you get lesser quality (plus, you know how much I love my Sally Hansens!)

  7. It's so weird how that first pic makes it look like there are purple highlights in the design. Would have looked cool!

  15. Yes I do, and I love me some Sally Hansen too! I just hope they make some design tweaks and then maybe they will be as good as the Sally Hansen ones.

  19. I have really small nail beds so I'm scared about trimming! These look pretty snazzy though!

  20. Yea, I didn't like that I had to trim them. They were either too big or too small.

  21. Well, I haven't tried these ones yet, I've just put on the ones KISS makes. I didn't know that China Glaze made nail strips, so now I'll have to check it out. I read about the peeling on other brands, so what I did with the KISS strips was this: I put a small bead of Crazy Glue(nail glue will work as well, its just so happens I had Crazy Glue handy)around the outside edge of all the strips once they were on my nails. Acetone will dissolve the glue just as it will remove the nail strips when i want to take them off, so I'm not worried. I'm pretty sure it will stop any peeling around the edges. I've also used a top coat over them to keep them from chipping.....now we just have to see how long they last. If anyone is curious, London Drugs here in Edmonton sell the KISS brand nails/nail strips. I just used Revlon Fast Drying Top Coat on top of them. Cheers!!
