Your Palapa or Mine

Hello Hello! Hope you are all having a great week!! Quick post tonight to show you a recent OPI purchase. (thanks mom!) This is OPI Your Palapa or Mine. This is from the Ulta Exclusive collection I believe.  A lovely green and that's about all there is to say about it! It's a little plain for my taste. I am trying to figure out how to jazz this up, any suggestions?   What you see is 2 effortless coats.  Enjoy!

  1. This looks great!! I've never heard of this color before, probably bc it's an Ulta exclusive.

    1. I think it's very similar if not the same green from the OPI Texas collection!

    2. This is looking prettier to me than the green in the TX collection...thinking the TX green is brighter maybe. I know when TX came out, I was looking carefully at that green vs. Jade is the New Black - they were close and I only wanted to buy 1 of 'em.

  9. I love it as it is...I would not mess with it in any way...but if you really cannot stand it and HAVE to do something I would do a really close tone on tone stamping (no high contrast - ya need to let the great shade this is really come through - it could easily get over done by using contrast). Another think I think would look OK would be just to take a Stripe Rite or other polish detailer and just tip a thin line, thinner than a full French tip. Am not sure what color tip stripes (kind of need to hold 'em up and see - but if you wanted to go and change it up to a summer look, am thinking an orange against the green. Any of the basic metallics would look Ok too for a stripe tip. Last thought would be to so some really small water transfer decals...again as with stamping, don't over do with the sticker decals (just something small)...thinking white tiny swirl flourish or the same flourish with a tiny daisy like flower. I would put the decals off to one side of the nails. Last idea, is maybe do just a few (like 3) hex shaped glitters to the 'moon' base area of each nail...dropping them into a fresh clear coat to get them to adhere. You might even find say a forrest green hex shape that is smaller - use that on either side of maybe a silver or bronze hex shape in the middle that is a size larger than the 'framing' side hex glitter pieces. Hope those ideas help! I have never seen this shade...but if it's an Ulta exclusive that is impossible for me to ever get (sans mail order)...we have zero Ulta's for about 500 miles of where I live...sadness!

  10. Very pretty!!! I have a feeling it is either Jade is the New Black or the Texas green. Would love to see a comparison! Also, to jazz it up, you can always add some glitter on top =)

    1. I'd have to pass the comparison to someone else as I don't have either of those!
